Trump VP Pick: "I Know Who It's Going To Be"
Trump is currently leading in all major national polls over his rival GOP candidates. It also gives him a good reason to think about the future VP. AT Fox News Town Hall on Wednesday in Iowa, Trump teased about VP Pick as his running mate in 2024, which he said, "I know who it’s going to be."
It is worth to note that Trump is open to choose someone in the race competing against him, and he was jokingly that he starts to like Chris Christie who was dropping out of the Presidential race earlier on Wednesday, which Chris had criticized Trump from part of his exit speech.
Trump responded when pressed for a hint of potential candidate by Fox News moderator on that same VP Pick topic, "I don't see it, I don't see it." Trump also said that it would be an upset if Chris Christie is vice president. Of course, Trump didn't announce the potential VP name at the town hall because it may be too early to announce the VP Pick just yet.
There is a possibility that the announcement may come after the Iowa caucus or New Hamshire Primary. If Trump wins both States, there is a highly likely chance that Trump will secure the GOP nomination given his popularity among the Republican voters and the significance wide margin lead in the poll. So all eyes are really on the Hawkeye State and the Granite State on January 15 and January 23 respectively to have a sense of who really has the highest chance of GOP nomination for President to face off with the Democrat Nominee in the General Election on November 5, 2024.
At this point, the GOP Presidential candidates, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, are the only two left in the GOP field that can potentially sway away Trump's base; however, their poll numbers are remaining in a far distant compare to Trump number. Therefore, Trump is still feeling very comfortable about his chance to be the most favorite in the Republican presidential candidate so far and is presumably to be the GOP nominee based on the recent national poll.
There is speculation about the potential VP names that include rival GOP Candidates (potentially Vivek Ramaswamy or even Nikki Haley), GOP Congresswoman Nancy Mace, former Fox News Tucker Carlson, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and the strongest defender of Trump's impeachments GOP Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. While these are the most favorite in Trump's mind, however, anything could change between now and the time he is officially making the VP announcement.
